Helkama Jääkäri e-bike 7sp

The robust Helkama Jääkäri endures the harshest bicycle trips and marches. The electric assist version of the legendary model has classic looks, a vigorous riding position and durable steel frame. Made at Helkama’s bicycle plant in Hanko.

Equipped with the premium Shimano Steps E6110 60Nm motor, the e-Jääkäri travels swiftly on pavement, gravel and forest trails. The powerful motor is designed to respond quickly, which increases safety in fast-paced traffic. The motor is also among the lightest (approx. 2.7 kg) and most compact on the market. Its running sound is also very silent.

The bicycle is equipped with a Shimano 11.6Ah / 418Wh battery with a range of up to 150km with a single charge.* Located on the pannier rack, the battery can be easily removed for charging. You can also charge the battery while it is fitted to the bike.

The compact SC-E5000 display shows you the assist level, speed, distance and battery charge, among other things. The display also works as a selection switch for adjusting the three assist levels (ECO, NORMAL, HIGH) up or down and turning the lights on. In addition, you can select the walk assist mode for walking the bike, with the motor offers small but sufficient assist, for example when walking the bike uphill.

The gear set in the Jääkäri is the reliable Shimano Nexus 7 hub gear. The conventional coaster brake together with a vigorous HR front drum brake smoothly stops even a fierce speed assault. Herrmans lights at the front and rear are powered from the battery, and they light the road to new adventures. The wide 54-584 tyres improve the grip and add firmness to the ride. The pannier rack is compatible with AtranVeloSystem (AVS) baskets and bags. The versatile e-Jääkäri is excellently suited for urban riding and touring.

*The range varies depending on the conditions (e.g. terrain, wind conditions, rider’s weight, outdoor temperature). The electric assist mode and maximum battery capacity/range estimates are based on Shimano’s original test results, in which the total weight of the cyclist and bicycle was 100kg and the speed used in the test was 23 km/h on a flat road.
